In
September 1990 at the age of 16, Steven started his apprenticeship
at Anderson and Shepherd, one of the most reputable tailors
on the row.
From practicing stitching and making pockets on scrap pieces of
cloth to being able to make a full jacket of the highest standard
took Steven just 4 years.
Steven then spent a further 5 years in the cutting room mastering
the art of cutting a soft tailored suit. He learnt this skill from
some of the best cutters in the business, many of whom have since
retired. Steven is the last member of this very exclusive club.
Steven is the last person to have been passed this knowledge of
soft tailoring and is eager to keep this traditional skill alive.
In September 1999 Steven started his own business at 11 Old Burlington
Street which has gone from strength to strength, including making
for His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.
In January 2003, Steven relocated to another prestigious premises
at 13 New Burlington Street, from which he hopes to continue the
success he has seen over the last 3 years.
